Welcome to the European Technical Assistance Programme for Vietnam (ETV2)

The European Technical Assistance Programme for Vietnam (ETV2) is a technical assistance umbrella programme funded by the European Commission in cooperation with the Government of Vietnam. The European Commission provides funding amounting to a total of €11,034,800.

The aim of the ETV2 Programme is to provide technical assistance and support to the Vietnamese Government’s three financial and economic institutions, the Ministry of Finance (MoF), Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) and Ministry of Science and Technology (MST). These ministries are central to the Government of Vietnam’s current reform drive, in the framework of 2001-2010 socio-economic strategy plan and in line with the Government’s Comprehensive Poverty Reduction and Growth Strategy (CPRGS). ETV2 was launched at the end of 2005 and will continue until April 2009.

Overall Project Task Force

The activities of ETV2 project are managed by dedicated Project Task Forces (PTFs) composed of officials appointed by the Vietnamese Government, supported by Vietnamese staff and EU experts provided by the European Commission. The six PTFs are coordinated by an Overall Project Task Force (OPTF).

- Bringing Vietnam into line with its WTO and other commitments on standards, metrology, testing, analysis, inspection, etc - Developing a national standards corpus and institutional capacity at the Vietnam Standards Quality Centre - Promoting Vietnamese Chamber of Commerce and Industry and private sector as business getaways for ASEAN and EU.
